At Cherry Pop Events, our mission is deeply rooted in love, respect, inclusion, and integrity. As a small business built on community, creativity, and heart, I must speak plainly: I do not support Donald Trump or his administration—and here’s why.
1. Rhetoric and Leadership That Divide and Demonize
Over the years, the Trump brand of politics has repeatedly empowered hate, fear, and exclusion. Whether through inflammatory language, policies targeting marginalized groups, or the amplification of extremist voices, the framework has too often legitimized division. In an era when many already feel vulnerable or marginalized, such leadership is harmful. A business built on celebration should not ally itself with a worldview that pits people against one another.
2. Love Is Love
Cherry Pop Events believes unequivocally that love is love. Every couple, every family, every individual should have the freedom to celebrate who they are and whom they love—without judgment, fear, or legal discrimination. I reject any political ideology that suggests otherwise.
3. Policies That Hurt People and Businesses
Beyond ideology, policy matters—and not always in small ways. The current administration has enacted measures that actively erode protections and dignity for LGBTQ+ communities. Executive orders have sought to restrict gender-affirming care for minors, re-define protections based on “biological sex” only, and remove nondiscrimination protections for LGBTQ+ people in areas like employment, healthcare, and education. Moreover, sweeping reversals in civil rights and human rights protections have been documented by organizations like Amnesty International, which has criticized this administration’s actions as undermining rights, increasing authoritarianism, and eroding foundational institutions. In short: these are not abstract concerns. They affect real people—families, workers, clients—and the businesses that seek to serve them.
I understand that my position might make some people hesitant to work with me, and I am truly sorry for that. In business, relationships are built on trust and respect. But above all, I have to remain true to what is right—and true to my heart.
