There are weeks when the carefully made plans fall apart.
There are weeks when the content calendar doesn’t matter, the checklist remains untouched, and even the most organized planner has to put everything down.
This was one of those weeks.
My ma passed on.

Everything moved incredibly quickly, and I found myself far underwater—trying to reach her, be with my family, process what was happening, and then begin navigating the bewildering first days after losing a parent.
While all of that was happening, the Cherry Pop Gazette was supposed to be published. Social media posts were supposed to go out. There was a schedule, a plan, and a tidy list of things waiting to be completed.
None of them happened.
And they are not going to happen this week.
This week is shot.
I don’t say that with guilt or as an apology. I say it because grief does not care about editorial calendars. It doesn’t wait until your work is finished or arrive at a convenient time. It changes the entire shape of the day—and sometimes, simply making it through that day is the only thing that belongs on the schedule.
As a wedding and event planner, I spend much of my life building timelines and preparing for the unexpected. But there are moments no contingency plan can make easy. There are losses that cannot be managed into neat little boxes. There are times when the most responsible decision is to stop.
So, that is what I am doing.

Cherry Pop Events is taking this week to breathe, grieve, and allow me to be a daughter and a human being before asking me to return as a business owner, planner, writer, or podcaster.
The Cherry Pop Gazette and our regular social media content will resume on Sunday, September 27.
When we return, we will pick up where we left off. The unfinished posts will still be there. The planning advice will still matter. The weddings, conversations, and beautiful things we are building together will continue.
But for this week, I am letting the timeline go.
Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and the grace to make space for something more important than staying on schedule.
With love,
Laura
